What's Hot

  • Traditional styling and furnishing of the villa enhances that really authentic Zanzibari feel and atmosphere that a stay at Che Che Vule engenders
  • Forget any hassle of preparing food in the kitchen yourself - the villa's 2 Swahili chefs will whip up delicious dishes for you on a daily basis and are happy to tweak menus to cater for your specific needs and tastes
  • There's nothing better than enjoying the stunning views out over the startlingly aquamarine ocean with its timeless passing parade of traditional fishing dhows!
  • Cool off in the swimming pool set in the villa's attractive tropical gardens - or why not take a boat trip out to the famous reefs off nearby Mnemba island for some superb snorkelling
  • The very attentive yet relaxed and unobtrusive service courtesy of the villa's wonderfully friendly butlers means you hardly have to lift a finger

What's Not

  • Che Che Vule is not as modern nor luxurious as some of the other exclusive use villas on the island (although they in turn perhaps lack its truly authentic Zanzibari feel)
  • The villa is located on a lovely beach, but given that it is surrounded by Matemwe village you need to be aware that it's not completely secluded and pristine and you will encounter people from the village when you're out exploring on the beach
Che Che Vule

Che Che Vulelarge windows and balconies offer expansive views over the garden, swimming pool and ocean (where you can enjoy the truly timeless sight of local dhows sailing past!)

Located on the sought-after strip of beach at Matemwe on the north-east coast of Zanzibar and overlooking an azure blue ocean, Che Che Vule is a traditionally styled 4 bedroom villa which is a great option for a family or group of friends looking for an exclusive use home providing privacy, private chefs and butlers, a vast range of activities and true one on one guest service.

This secluded beach villa was built back in the 1990’s as a private house. During 2007 & 2008 the property was expanded and upgraded and since then run as a villa for visitors from all over the world who seek an exclusive, stylish retreat with all the comforts of a resort, yet, with emphasis on personal service. The small team is all from nearby villages and include your private chefs, butlers, housekeepers, gardeners and security guards and all take pride in ensuring that guests at Che Che Vule enjoy an unforgettable time.

This is a place where you can truly enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding tropical garden, kickback and relax at the pool, or dip and play in warm Indian Ocean, all the while revelling in Zanzibar’s mystical island atmosphere and history. The villa is designed to ensure guests maximum space in the form of high woven Makuti thatch roofs and ample floor space. Large windows and balconies offer expansive views over the garden, swimming pool and ocean (where you can enjoy the truly timeless sight of local dhows sailing past!)

The villa’s two acclaimed Swahili private chefs, Eddy and Juma, serve up the best Zanzibar has to offer - tropical fruits and fresh vegetables, an array of delicious seafood from the Indian Ocean, homemade goodies and more, all creatively prepared using Zanzibar’s famous herbs and spices. Fluent in authentic Swahili and fusion dishes, they adapt the menu to your preferred palate using only the freshest Island ingredients.

The food policy is to keep the menu small so that you are always enticed with the freshest ingredients. Every day at breakfast time you’ll find the daily menu and you are welcome to place your orders. However, should you have any special needs such as a vegetarian menu, small children’s menu or simply a tempting desire for something special like lobster or crab, then just let Eddy and Juma know and they’ll cater accordingly. In keeping with the feeling that this is your home for the duration of your stay, all meals are served at the most suitable time for you… breakfast is ready whenever you decide to drop off your bed! Throughout your stay, Haji, one of your private butlers will be always happy to serve your drinks. He delights guests with his fresh tropical fruit concoctions and is known as the Milkshake Master!

Whilst you may wish to spend most of your time simply chilling around the villa, Zanzibar offers visitors wanting to explore an abundance of delights: an unfathomable rich history that’s filled with aromatic spice plantations, waving palm fringed landscapes and white sandy beaches. One of the major tourist attractions is Stone Town which proudly stands as a World Heritage Site and it is a experience for the senses with its winding alleys, colourful kanga bazaars - where bargaining is a necessity, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, Foradhani Gardens - al-fresco Swahili dining under the stars with street food vendors and stall owners welcoming you - guests are welcome to book half-a-day or day tours which include diving excursions, dhow sailing and sandbank picnics, spice tours, kite surfing and Jozani Forest walks. Che Che Vule is also only a 20-minute boat ride from Mnemba Island, its surrounding atoll world famous for its great dive sites and snorkelling.
