A dedicated team of island lodge experts.
The Barefoot Travel Group was founded by Rosie and Derek Palframan in 2006 - after more than 20 years in senior management roles across the travel industry, they saw the opportunity to open specialist niche operators that did not try to sell every destination on the planet.
Instead, the Barefoot Travel Group is built around having dedicated teams of experts for distinct destinations. The first to open was Barefoot Breaks, focussing on chic Indian Ocean beach lodges. Then there's Just Mauritius, a pure Mauritius holiday specialist, whilst Bushscapes specialises solely in South African game lodges.

We Know Because We Go
At Barefoot Breaks we believe that it is absolutely vital that our consultants know exactly what they are talking about, so every year we send our consultants off for a couple of weeks to personally see and experience the lodges and hotels that they are selling.
They get to sleep in the same rooms, eat at the same romantic beach restaurants, snorkel the same coral reefs and watch the same stunning sunsets from the same bar stools that you as clients will enjoy. And that personal knowledge and experience in turn then informs the expert advice that they are able to give you.
That way they can tell you which rooms they recommend most, what the beach and the snorkelling are really like, who the lodge suits best, and why they believe certain options are perfect for you.
